Imagine being stuck in a dark, scary place. It’s lonely and unsafe. But then, someone special comes along and leads you to a warm, loving home. This is what salvation through Jesus is like!

What is Salvation?

Salvation is a gift from Jesus that brings us out of our mistakes (sins) and into a bright new life with God. Think of it as moving from a dark room into the sunshine. In Colossians 1:13, it says, “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.”

Why Do We Need Salvation?

We all make mistakes and fall short of God’s perfect standards (Romans 3:23). These mistakes can make us feel distant from God. But there’s great news! Romans 6:23 tells us, “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus came to help us move from darkness to light.

How Did Jesus Make This Possible?

Jesus died on the cross and came back to life to take away our sins (Romans 5:8). To accept this amazing gift, we simply need to believe in Him and ask for His forgiveness. Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

What Happens When You Accept Jesus?

Your life changes for the better! 1 Peter 2:9 says, “You are a chosen people...that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” You go from being lost to being found, from guilt to forgiveness. Romans 8:1 assures us, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

How to Start This New Journey

To step into the light, you can pray a simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Please forgive me and come into my life as my Savior and Lord. Thank you for your love and grace. Amen.

Next, grow in this new life by:

  • Reading the Bible – It’s like a lamp showing you the way (Psalm 119:105).

  • Praying – Share your worries and thankfulness with God (Philippians 4:6).

  • Finding a Church – Join a community that supports and grows with you (Hebrews 10:24-25).

  • Being Kind – Show compassion to others (Ephesians 4:32).

  • Sharing Your Hope – Tell others about the hope you have in Jesus (1 Peter 3:15).

God bless you!
